Ugh! I lost track of time and just remembered that I haven't blogged about my big run on Saturday morning. Therefore, I'll do so now. Commence blogging...
Saturday was my first four mile run. It went pretty darn well. I mapped it out on MapMyRun and when I showed Julie, she was like, "Dude, that first part is basically straight up." I'm not sure if I didn't believe her or what, but I didn't really even think about it. It didn't register for some reason.
Until I was running straight up for the first mile and a quarter. It seriously seemed like I was running to the highest point in my town. But, I knew that it wasn't that far, even if it felt like eternity, so I just plugged away.
Once I came down the hill, things were ok for the most part. I had a kid cheer me on from his balcony, which was nice, too. I finished in about 43-44 minutes so I was really happy with that. Now I have to start getting mentally prepared for my first five miler I'm to run next Saturday. I'm excited.
I've also started doing planks and some other core work because my back has been hurting. We'll see how much it helps.
As a side note, this weekend was really busy, with wedding rehearsal and dinner on Friday, a beautiful wedding for my beautiful friends Mitchell and Carolyn on Saturday, a dance-off with my friend Jimmy at the reception, and then my friend Sahlman's birthday party last night. Plus, church and watching the Packers. It was a very good, full weekend.
And now it's Monday.
