Outta My Way, Rabbit

It was rabbit central out there this morning. I practically stepped on three of them and a couple of those fuzzy beasts seemed to be following me. Thankfully, they weren’t squirrels. I hate squirrels. They’re always up to something. I can tell.

Anyway, the run went splendidly. For a change of pace, I listened to music the entire time. I’m not sure I’ve ever actually done that, because usually I can’t not run on the beat. I think I’m used to my own rhythm now, though, so it was really great. Plus, it was amazing music (the new David Crowder Band), so that helped.

It was dark again and kind of muggy, but still really nice. Not hot at all. Oh, and it was super foggy this morning. That was pretty cool; running through the fog.

The first mile and a half were a breeze. Probably the easiest I’ve ever ran. It felt great. Which is good, because I’m planning to run four miles on Saturday. That’ll be the farthest I’ve ever run in my life. Basically 2/3 of a 10k. Huh. I just realized that. Nice.

My back is feeling ok, too, and my leg hasn’t had that numbness again, either. I need to do more strength exercises for my back and core, though. I did some plank work last night on the advice of my friend Matt. That crap is hard. Especially if you do it right and don’t stick your buttocks way up in the air.

And having said buttocks…good day.
